For Suzanne in Heaven
2009 February 9
Who did she resemble?
We will never know.
Our sweet baby fresh and new,
A babe so innocent and pure–
Not even a breath could alter you.
Why was your visit so short?
We couldn’t wait to hold you,
we were so ready
to enfold and unfold you.
A little room readied with
gingham and lace.
It is nearly time,
everything is in place.
Most likely eyes of brown or green,
sable curls waiting
to be stroked and cleaned.
So much love waiting here
for you–so wanted.
Did you feel it?
Do you feel it?
Once we meet you,
will we be able to play?
Why did God send you?
And take you away?

Oh my gosh..how beautiful, sad and yet so touching. I’m choked. This appears recent? You certainly don’t have to explain.
Beautiful A.Peg! BEAUTIFUL!
What a beautiful poem! Sometimes we can’t understand why things happen the way they do. It makes me think of the one I lost even though it was just a flicker of life.
Lovely poem – such hard-to-deal-with emotions; it certainly helps to write, doesn’t it?
Hi Peg, Milt and I read your poem and it really touched our hearts. We lost our little Sophia almost 13 years ago. We were so moved by how similar your feelings come across from your loss as compared to ours. I feel comforted to know, that after so much time has passed, our little loved ones still have a place in our lives and are not forgotten. 🙂 On a lighter note, we wish you a speedy recovery on your surgery. It’s been very nice to read both of your poems in this forum. You are both very talented. Take care,
Amanda
Regina Marie, Thank you for your sweet note. No, It was not recent. it was actually my parents first baby, who would have been my sister. I have always longed for her, and wanted to honor her. I am glad you enjoyed it. Isn’t this web site wonderful! So many beautiful talents!!
Peg
Wow..my mom mis-carried but I would of had a sister too. She was devestated as it was late. To give birth then loose a child would be so painful. Yes..the site is wonderful-
